Last weekend I took a much needed getaway to the Jersey Shore. As I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, I love going to Ocean City, N.J., any chance I get. I left on a Friday morning and got there around 12 p.m., with plenty of time to still sit and enjoy the beach.

Off Season at the Jersey Shore
While it may not be the most popular time to venture to the Jersey shore, autumn is my favorite time of the year to visit the area. While the weather can be questionable, there’s something about the way the air feels in fall at the beach — it’s cleaner, clearer, crisper somehow, and the ocean breeze offers just the right chill. After a mid-October weekend in Stone Harbor with my fiancé, the comments on my Instagram and Facebook pictures indicated others feel the same about autumn at the beach.

Labor Day Weekend seems to fly by faster and faster each year — either a sign of the times or my age, no way to know for sure — so all the more reason to make plans and soak it up.
