Six Senses recently announced plans for its new property, opening in 2026: Six Senses Wadi Safar. The new hotel features 80 guestrooms spread across five clusters on top of a hill with panoramic views of the surrounding valley. True to the region’s deep cultural roots and original Najdi-style palatial architecture, the resort pairs the vibe of a traditional gathering place with the ultimate in luxurious and contemporary living.

The new property will be set on a secluded and discrete lifestyle destination for Saudi society and international visitors, extending across 49 acres. The exclusive resort is expected to host special events, weekend retreats, and longer stays for history fans and wellness seekers alike.
Six Senses Spa promises a sensory experience with dedicated suites for sight and touch; treatment rooms; and a hammam, salon, gym and yoga studio. With yoga programs, signature massages, biohacking tools, multiday retreats, and brand standards such as Sleep with Six Senses and Eat With Six Senses, the hotel offers something for every type of traveler.
The resort will also feature the Grow With Six Senses activity program with a local twist. During the day, expect to roll up your sleeves for mud brick making, traditional Najdi design workshops, and Sadu weaving and pottery. At night, enjoy a movie under the stars at the outdoor Cinema Paradiso.

Come Face-to-Face with Mountain Gorillas on a Trek in Uganda
Not a word was spoken as I settled into a cozy spot on the outdoor terrace just outside the main lodge at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge in Uganda. The air was so still the ice in my single malt seemed to echo off the forest in the distance as it clanked against the glass. I sat among a handful of fellow adventurers, each sitting silently beneath the night sky for one collective goal. Moments earlier, we learned a troop of mountain gorillas had made their way down the mountain near our lodge, and we left our meals to instead sit in eager anticipation of hearing the guttural grunts of the primates below. The chills on my arms never left me that night, even as I made my way up a stone pathway to my personal banda (guestroom). Thankfully, sleep came quickly for me that night as I drifted into dreams of what my next day would bring.
