A Taste of Tapas and Wine

floor menu menu menuMy husband and I wanted to go out for a date night close to home, so we opted for a from-scratch Italian restaurant in downtown York called Tutoni’s. We didn’t want a large meal, so we went upstairs to TT Bar — Tapas up Top — to sample some tapas and wine.

TT Bar is a fun, quirky space with Mason jar lights and a floor made of pennies. There is a wall dedicated to a wine-pouring system that allows customers to pay for what you pour (1, 3 or 5 ounces), so you can try all of the different varietals and vintages without having to buy the whole bottle.

The bar also has a large selection of freshly made cocktails with ingredients as interesting as the names: “I Had a Wife But I Couldn’t Keep Her,” with bourbon, bitters, grilled pumpkin and apple-pecan syrup; or “Cornification,” with mezcal, grilled corn-fennel-tomato-shrub and honey-cayenne pepper syrup.

plate plate plate plateThe tapas menu changes weekly, as do the fresh ingredients. This week we were able to try fried Brussels sprouts, burrata and capocolla, Nduja bruschetta, fried duck liver, Arancini and beet-cured smoked salmon. All were beautifully plated and delicious!
